Designed to simplify the busy lifestyle of college students, young adults and single professionals, this product’s purpose is both to reduce the amount of dirty dishes after each meal and to retain the temperature of food after is has been cooked.
LUPPI consists of a main vessel and an accompanying silicone plate. The main vessel is made of a copper base fused with an iron core and coated with non-stick ceramic for a natural ‘plate-like’ sensation while eating. Its handles are made of stainless steel with silicone grips for safe handling.

Specifications
• Dimensions (W x H) Small: 10″ x 8″ (25 x 20 cm). Medium: 12″ x 9.5″ (30 x 24 cm).
• Copper plate on the bottom for quick and even heat conduction fused to an iron core for excellent heat retention.
• Non-stick ceramic coating allows high-heat cooking up to 750°F (400°C).
• Silicone plate is microwave and oven safe. Resists heat up to 480°F (250°C).
Design Process
Main issue addressed: issue of food getting cold a few minutes after it is served. Secondarily, having too many dirty dishes after a meal.
Market exploration and brainstorming
Main concerns: ability to retain heat, cordless, individual and safe.
Target market: college students and young single professionals.
Main feature: use of the same vessel to cook and eat.
The first part may be used as a pan directly on the stove or to bake food in the oven. It is made of ceramic and has an copper rim which is the part that will be in contact with the direct fire. Because both copper and ceramic get quite hot when heated, this has silicone grips and this silicone plate, which is the second component of this product.
After cooking, place the ceramic plate into the silicone plate and eat directly from it.
The silicone plate may be used in the microwave by itself. And while cooking on the stove, it serves as a lid for the ceramic plate.
